Description

The Tricon 8110 is the Main Chassis of a Tricon system, designed for high-density configurations. It is part of a series of chassis assemblies that contain I/O and communication modules, allowing for the expansion and customization of the system. The 8110 model is the first chassis in a system, with the ability to add Expansion Chassis (Models 8111 or 8121) and/or RXM Chassis (Model 8112) to enlarge the system

Each chassis, including the 8110, features six RS-485 I/O expansion bus ports at the top left corner of the backplane. These ports are arranged in two sets for channels A, B, and C, providing two triplicated serial communication paths between chassis. The triplicated I/O bus transfers data between the I/O modules and the Main Processors at 375 kilobits per second, while the communication bus runs between the Main Processors and the communication modules at 2 megabits per second
